I was under the impression Ita we were inviting fellow travellers..
Hi. Here's the strategy. Get the Gospel back in the public square. This is a battle for hearts and minds. A desire for objective understanding on any given issue will in time flow forth from within. Then you get your wisdom, clarity of thinking, sound decision-making. How to achieve it, well one method is eliminate the middle man if they're getting in the way of the deal, extracting too greater a transaction cost, threatening debasing distorting diluting the reputation of your brand.
Our brand as Christians in the information wars is the Banner of Truth. He underpins undergirds all genuine enquiry of knowledge. Additionally we all rely on the media to be informed and help understand current events They are now making themselves the story. Media is plural for medium, in this instance a conduit or channel for information. Spiritists and mediums didn't fare too well in the Bible, neither false prophets.
Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God I give you. (Deuteronomy 4:2 NIV)
I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll. (Revelation 22:18-19 NIV)
Exact replication is the gold standard when conveying the spirit of the message, no CCP whispers. We don't expect the courier or postie to open our mail, annotate and edit it. Don't distort your reporting of the event, relay it faithfully using your knowledge and judgement gained through experience. If your education was tainted in Marxism, if you're steeped in opinion not years, you may struggle this session.
Recapture the ABC as contested ground in the War on Truth.
In Australia our national broadcaster is the ABC, funded to the tune of I think now north of a billion per annum. It's all over the show like a cheap suit, free to air television, am/fm/DAB, podcasts, iView on demand, shrill shill Marxist investigative hitjobs on public conservatives, it's Show Trial. They do it all. And on our watch, with our money. They are laughing at us, and rightly so.
I am both a friend and Friend of the ABC, true story. Joined up to loosely monitor their extracurricular supporter network, willing to contribute unwelcome input at a meeting should opportunity arise etc, came onto the radar when at last Federal election and at least one by-election I noted their political involvement both prior and on the day. They are complementary to the likes of $oros' GetUp.
So, I mention this because I am in disagreement with the standard pearl clutcher from the conservatives, that we either privatise it lock stock the Euphemia lot, or asset strip it and I don't know what is intended here, beardy guy keeps gardening but they only watch the media, dunno, sounds dumb.
Newscorp journos are on a long leash, Rupert allows them to peck and annoy but never anything approaching hospitalisation, and Auntie does need radical surgery. Think about it, always a good start, and finish. It isn't in Rupert or the fruit of his loins' interests to see a fully functioning healthy taxpayer funded competitor actually firing on all cylinders.
Case Study: During the course of my political epiphany I took out an online subscription to The Australian for inter/national coverage of news, current affairs and commentary from a broadly centre-right perspective. And yes IMHO the Oz has slid left since ceding authority, making it less attractive. Same as politics, without effective competition on the right they drift left. Like parents or patients will pay twice in schooling or health, I paid for better quality information. The ABC does not represent my beliefs, which prize clarity of understanding, let me make up my own mind its true import, you just deliver the facts. I have been disenfranchised by them, I do not need to be challenged by lies, bias, misinformation.
If the money's coming in and you're a media junkie you might pay $416 first year then $520 p.a, and yes that cost can be diluted when adult kids are left to their own devices, and thrown in you get the Weekend Australian paper, but it's too much for the uncommitted, and so older punters rely on the FTA junk on telly, the younger their newsfeed on social mainstream media.
It may be in Newscorp's best interests to see the ABC sold off and remove a sizeable competitor devoid of commercial pressures, understandably so, but given the contribution of my taxes, the legal obligation to adhere to the ABC Charter, and the potential for vital leadership unsaddled by market concerns with financial immunity, unlike the commercial sector's loss of advertisers via cancel culture, e.g 2GB and Alan Jones, I want a reformed ABC representing all Australians across the political spectrum. Let the best plan win.
On an Advance Australia email yesterday I was made aware of a campaign to secure an Ombudsman for the ABC in order to ensure balanced coverage. Senator Alex Antic has spoken on this. I have a great deal of time for Alex, he is doing the heavy lifting required, and this particular approach may bear fruit, though I doubt it, for the neo-cons or progressive Marxists within the Coalition have proven incapable of delivering solid legal or administrative appointments to office. It might be there just aren't enough professionally and morally qualified people available. Anyway, a public servant ostensibly committed to neutrality will in practise actively promote a leftist agenda or crumble at the first blowback. We never gain ground in these contests, at best it's a jump to the left, and then a step to the right in this transition era. The horror.

Where was I, right, here's an approach to gain entree into Ultimo. We will need puns. lots of puns.
In 1989 the then Prime Minister Bob Hawke, Rhodes scholar later ACTU President, knew what it would take to break the back of the pilots' strike. I'm unfamiliar with all the ins and outs, maybe the aviators almost 30% wage increase as trigger for blowing up essential structural fiscal reform wasn't the smartest move to pull on this bloke, but my point, Hawke's prior experience taught him to be clear-eyed about what was necessary. Declare a national emergency, bring in the RAAF for essential domestic service, bankroll for a time the airlines' key costs in the dispute, leave the pilots open to litigation. In a quarter hour's research it looked like a messy business but avoidable with a little less greed and compromise. Didn't happen, and ultimately the economic reforms benefited the whole nation, setting us up for years to come, that is until this current generation.
My point. The ABC is almost the essential national asset and it is in the possession of enemies foreign and domestic. In the culture wars, in which said current PM deigns unfit to dirty his linen, ABC remains a key strategic target due to its lying at the heart of our infrastructure, our communication network for the dissemination of information knowledge truth, hence social cohesion, financial stability, the ability to defend ourselves. Whether or not it originated with Breitbart, the aphorism 'politics is downstream of culture' remains in part true, particularly when that politician is incapable or unwilling to contribute to and help shape culture for good. And forget relying on whoever the latest feckless incarnation is as Minister for Communication, it would require a different type of bravery than that counselled by sage Sir Humphrey.
Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. (Revelation 22:1-2 NIV)
It's getting late, so here we go. Sack the lot, Ultimo not Rome, or at least the vast majority of them because we're changing the culture, this will be climate change. Re-employ many under periodical contract with job spec political KPIs, severance packages for the rest. Industrial disputes will be met with national emergency legislation. High Court appeals must be circumvented through legislation, the kritocracy's nett effect has been only to encourage and enable transition away from majoritarian rule by representative democracy. Sure, security, cleaners, lesser technical staff, junior admin may remain, but senior posts and all staff intrinsically involved in generating content, whether that be news and current affairs, drama, sport whatever, must reapply for their new roles.
Now, you will say, David by your own admission words and deeds spring from inward belief, so how can you expect employees to adhere to ways of thinking and a worldview they are diametrically opposed to, just by signing on the dotted line to keep a mortgage going. Granted, there will be those incalcitrant enough to refuse and litigate, or sign then exact a long slow drawn out process of non-compliance in obedience to their own higher ideal. For the former we have the executive and legislature bouyed by populist support, and expect a clash with the judiciary. The latter are dealt with through revamped HR personnel and procedures, again requiring industrial relations reform where necessary.
Change management can be done with carrots and sticks, it doesn't have to be scorched earth, a lot of people will quickly fall into line when they see it done compassionately not callously, that there is demonstrated unwavering commitment to see it through, and the welfare of the organisation in serving all of Australia is paramount. There will be opportunities for socialists and other progressives to continue to use this approach in representing their art, but yes, some of that flock will have to be culled if a new breed are to brought in to intermingle.
The contest of ideas is what we want, and the corrupt do not. Let the thoughtful or fiery exchanges occur in the hallways, in the canteens, so what, so long as there is no physical altercations or threats of violence, it's an adult world.
And what of the conservative viewpoint, how and whom will generate it, well I'm glad you asked. I would take my begging bowl to someone like the Ramsay foundation, maybe Gina not sure about Pratt, with a crowd sourced Go Fund Me from the base, to make it clear this has broad based support. Combine completely justifiably with Federal funds, to establish a dedicated independent conservative team of journalists, on air presenters, cameramen, researchers, news directors, the lot. On contract too of course with different political KPIs in case they go walkabout. Yes you can become a Progressive, no you can't keep your job, you're employed on the conservative quota, something like that, reapply under the Marxist quota if you're that matt keen. This is where the greatest exchange of personnel occurs. We recruit from private industry, a little help with relocation packages where necessary, we're pinching NewsCorp, Sky, capital city papers, rural media, we encourage seasonal international exchanges of key personnel in like-minded media throughout the Anglosphere, wider if clearly fluent in English, cross fertilisation, conservatives encouraged to go on professional development furlough or sabbatical for targeted study, perhaps this aspect would warrant non-government funding. If the progs kick off they are welcome to ask $oros to fund their gap year.
What do you think, pie in the Sky? I forgot about the caterers.
We need a small conservative journalism school, Canberra maybe, or attached to a big city university campus, though the capital is cheaper student digs I guess. Again, just as the tertiary sector arced up about taking Ramsay funds for the B.WesternCiv a strong Liberal government brings them to heel. You will accept these funds, you will provide these facilities, we will provide the lecturers and students, don't try anything on. You just need the will, you already have the authority.
The other quicker option if it proves impossible for the Christian and conservative base to gain electoral representation by becoming Liberal members and preselecting sound candidates who will implement such a legislative agenda after winning the election, and let's face it, the current crop are pillows of society in the main. If that all proves too hard or we get impatient, then how about a privately funded legal challenge aiming for a High Court audience, citing the ABC in contravention of the Charter or Act. Expect the uniparty to defend entrenched interests. It could be a lead loss for us. We anticipate probably losing in whatever level court it's heard but the publicity generated acts as a force multiplier for wider public debate on the disenfranchisement of Christian and conservative worldviews by our national broadcaster.
I'm used to seeing purportedly conservative politicians buckle or self-immolate, but for the life of me I don't fully understand why the Coalition has allowed this to happen on their watch, think they've been in power two thirds of the time since 70s. With all his social capital and surpluses John Howard manages to put Janet on the board and Maurice in the big chair, well knock me down with a feather how was that going to turn out.
This is a Win Win for a conservative Liberal-National Coalition government. You get to do the Right Thing by re-enfranchising a vast swathe of Australia, you reform the ABC under new management and change the entire culture of the country for good, you encourage and motivate your base with renewed vigour as the grassroots supporters and membership see their thoughts and beliefs writ large again on the national stage, achieving electoral success as Australia realises the wicked Marxists have had Auntie under their spell and now she gets a new lease on life etc.
I said it is a team lift and I meant it. Iron sharpens iron. I need the encouragement, the technical support, correction and counsel, same as anyone else. Us Christians work together with Jesus Christ the head of our union of believers on earth, the Church referred to as the Body of Christ. We co-operate and work together, we pray for each other, when one suffers or is exalted we somehow share vicariously in the experience. I'm trying to do my bit. play my part, I hope and pray you realise the above is not beyond our reach. Have faith, and overcome your unbelief.
I have kept watch. Good night.
